We are going to Boston, Vermont and Cape Cod at the beginning of October!!!! Any suggestions what needs to be seen?
We have three days in Boston then go to Burlington where we will stay for two nights ( leaf peeping!) and then it's back to Boston and Provincetown.
So, questions:
We have three days in Boston then go to Burlington where we will stay for two nights ( leaf peeping!) and then it's back to Boston and Provincetown.
So, questions:
- does anybody know a nice hotel in the Boston area where they have smokers rooms and a way to get into the City by public transportation?
- Where are nice places to eat? We are not picky but European - so fast food is a known concept but not something we insist on. Doesn't have to be vegetarian - we would love to have a nice peace of meat but not for the price of a middle class car. And we would prefer if we wouldn't have to dress up.
- Any nice lesbian places in Boston?
- Are there any nice places left and right from I-89 ?
- Anything we should know about the area around Lake Champlain?
- Provincetown: best place for women?

Step One
* Make a post (public, friends locked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. List your 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV."). The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
* If you wish for real life things, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
* Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ.
Step Two
* Surf around your friends list (or friends friends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
* If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use - do it. You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf - to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not - it's your call.
* There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
My list:
1) New loooooong Spander / Spaith / Spuffy fics
2) Somebody who is willing to be used as my American mail office ( I often find wonderful clothes in my size (18/20) in US on-line shops, only - they don't deliver to Europe. Unfortunately bigger clothes made in Europe are always for women who are at least 6 feet high - which I am not)
3) more adresses of web pages of on-line shops for woman sizes
4) The Victor/ Victoria Broadway musical DVD because you can't get it on Amazon anymore, ( Read more... )
5) Windows XP for my Asus EeePC 701( Read more... ) or somebody who can tell me why it doesn't connect to encrypted wireless networks
6) Anglo-american Christmas choires...
7) A good recipe for iced tea (green tea & lemon?)
8) A diet that actually works for somebody who can't eat fish, doesn't like vegetables and cottage cheese and refuses to work out - yes I tried Atkins, after 4 month I was ready to kill for a piece of bread or a cake :-) And never mention pineapple when I'm around
9) Plane tickets to all the cities I haven't seen yet ( including New York, L.A., San Francisco, all of Canada and South America)
10) The ability to write in English

Your dominant hues are green and blue. You're smart and you know it, and want to use your power to help people and relate to others. Even though you tend to battle with yourself, you solve other people's conflicts well. Your saturation level is low - You stay out of stressful situations and advise others to do the same. You may not be the go-to person when something really needs done, but you know never to blow things out of proportion. Your outlook on life is bright. You see good things in situations where others may not be able to, and it frustrates you to see them get down on everything. |
